Although the Partners in the business can offer a wide range of skills in their own right, the key to delivering any assignment is to put the right team together to deliver the desired outcomes.

This is a key strength of our management team. Over the years, we have built up a network of specialists who we are able to bring into our product offering as and when required.

These specialists come in many forms, many are mature managers who have retired but still seek ad hoc project work but do not wish to be part of any conventional interim or agency group; some are like us, operating as self employed or under similar LLP arrangements.; some are from other consultancy practices, such as Tricon, where particular specialist knowledge is required.

DAVE BURNETT

Dave brings a wealth of very practical, senior management experience to ChangeStone.

His early career was as a Hospital Engineer with East Sussex Area Health Authority but moved into Facilities Management when he joined IBM in 1979 as a Regional Facilities Services Manager. Dave was part of the original group that formed the MBO of IBM Property to create Procord, what was then a leading edge company of outsourced Facilities Management.

Dave held many senior management and board roles with Procord and Johnson Controls after their acquisition of Procord in 1994. His early role with Procord was as Facilities Director where he had the responsibility for both the implementation of new accounts and customer liaison; and managing a large number of accounts with a diverse customer base UK wide.

Subsequently, as Marketing/Commercial Director, he was responsible for managing a complex brand change process, Procord to Johnson Controls, developing a corporate identity plan and identifying and developing new business opportunities as well as developing a successful marketing strategy for a complex £300m business.

He was seconded as the Operations Director to the Joint Venture Company Flagship which was set up to partner the Naval Recruitment and Training Agency.

On returning to Johnson Controls Dave took on the roles of Commercial Projects Director, BP Global Account Director, Director Centre of Excellence Europe and his final with them was as the Strategic Account Director for the BBC.

Like many successful people approaching their mid-fifties, Dave opted for a career break in 2007 and left Johnson Controls to travel for pleasure and concentrate on a house move. However, like Alan, the call of working brought him back to work as an Associate where he uses his experience to help our client mobilise large, multi-national contracts.

BOB CORNICK

Bob brings a wide range of management experience to ChangeStone.

He was trained as an electrical engineer with Southern Electricity and worked on their distribution networks up to 33kV in Portsmouth, Isle of Wight and Chichester.  He left to join IBM as a Facilities Engineer at the Havant Manufacturing site in 1974 with his key project work covering standby generator systems, power distribution networks, production installations and energy management.

Bob quickly moved into Facilities Management and over a period of 8 years progressed through the positions of Maintenance, Engineering and Services Management. The highlight responsibilities during this period were the introduction a new chemical process production line, and space planning for this 500k sq ft facility.

He then broadened his IBM experience by moving into higher management roles in Production and was responsible for several critical disc storage product manufacturing lines, and latterly the management of the engineering and production teams for Storage Sub-systems.  A move away from manufacturing saw him fulfil various European Operations Management roles in IBM’s OEM, Marketing, and Consulting Services organisations.

After taking a retirement package from IBM Bob had a short career break but missed the cut and thrust of the work environment and returned to complete several consulting projects though ISS Coflex, one of which led to a permanent position with Laing O’Rourke. As one the country’s leading construction companies they needed an effective maintenance organisation to be established for their UK headquarters building and various sites throughout the UK. Bob established the structure, personnel and processes and stayed on for a year to manage the operation into a stable environment.

This assignment was followed by more consultancy work but this time through Alan Newton and Associates. This has mainly been associated with a large multi-national contract with a leading computer company. This involved technical support to the mobilisation programme, and more recently management of the Company’s energy conservation programme across Europe.

Outside of work Bob lists his interests as golf, walking, theatre, travel, reading, and supporting Portsmouth FC.
